About Kate & June Blooms
Mission
At Kate & June Blooms, we grow seasonal, garden-fresh flowers that bring joy and connect people to nature.
Our mission is to share the magic of each season through thoughtfully grown and designed florals, making the world a little brighter—one bloom at a time.
Vision
We make the world better and more beautiful with fresh, locally-grown flowers. They remind us to slow down, savor the present, and celebrate life’s special moments.
Growing Season
We grow fresh flowers from April - September.
What We Do
Our focus is on growing specialty flowers you won’t find at the supermarket. We share them with you through:
Flower Subscriptions - Weeks of seasonal florals for Spring, Summer, Fall, or a Bloom Bundle for all three.
Flower Stand - Pick up seasonal bouquets from our stand without the commitment.
Weddings & Events -À la carte option for table arrangements, bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages.
Buckets of Blooms - DIY approach to bouquets and table arrangements. We provide the flowers and greenery, you design it.
Wholesale - Florists in Bay City and surrounding areas can access fresh, local blooms for a more sustainable option. We love supporting local!
Workshops - Let’s make a magical event for your business, organization, or friend group, arranging seasonal centerpieces, bouquets, or wreaths.
What We Don’t Do
You-Pick Flowers
Farm Visits
Grow “wildflowers”
Sell damaged or bug-eaten flowers
Sustainable Practices
We grow flowers using organic and sustainable practices.
We are not considered a 100% organic flower farm. To state we are organic is a big deal and we would need to go through a lengthy certification process. This is something we are interested in for the future.
Rooted in Passion
The Story of Kate & June Blooms
Planting the Seed
Hi! I’m Sierra, the heart and hands behind Kate & June Blooms. My journey with flowers began in 2022 when I started growing cut flowers in the backyard of our 1-acre lot in Kawkawlin, MI.
What started as a simple garden quickly became a deep passion—planning, sowing seeds, nurturing them, and finally harvesting blooms that brought so much joy. But the real magic happened when I began arranging them and sharing their beauty with others.
From Nurse to Flower Grower
Before flowers, my world revolved around caring for others in a different way. I’m a registered nurse turned stay-at-home mom, dedicating six years to raising my two daughters. As they grew more independent, I felt a pull toward something just for me—a creative outlet that challenged my mind and filled my soul. That’s when I turned to flowers.
From Passion to Profession
During the winter of 2021-2022, I immersed myself in learning about the local flower movement and the art of growing flowers. I fell in love with the process and never looked back. By 2023, Kate & June Blooms became official, and I found myself not only growing flowers, but also building a business from the ground up—an exciting challenge I’m fully committed to.
A Family-Grown Dream
None of this would be possible without my biggest supporter—my husband, Keith. Whether it's building flower beds, hauling soil, or cheering me on, he’s right there with me. As we always say in our house, "Teamwork makes the dream work."
Sharing the Beauty of Local Blooms
My dream is simple: to share the joy of locally grown flowers with as many people as possible in the Great Lakes Bay Region. If just one person feels even a fraction of the happiness I get from these blooms, then I’ve done my job.
If you’ve made it this far—thank you! I hope we get to meet someday so you can experience the magic of locally grown flowers for yourself.
“Kate & June Blooms is more than just a flower farm. It’s a reflection of my love for nature, family, and the simple joy that fresh flowers bring. I’m so grateful to share this journey—and these blooms—with you!”
Our Values
At Kate & June Blooms, we don’t just grow flowers—we grow moments, memories, and a deeper appreciation for nature’s beauty.
Seasonality
There’s something special about flowers that change with the seasons. We embrace nature’s rhythm, offering fresh, unique blooms that celebrate the present moment.
Rooted in Nature
Our blooms are grown with care, in tune with the seasons, and nurtured by the earth.
Sustainability and respect for nature are at the heart of everything we do.
We strive to create more than we consume.
Joy in the Present
Flowers have the power to brighten days, celebrate milestones, and bring simple happiness.
We believe in sharing the joy of simple pleasures to savor in the here and now.
Passion & Heart
From seed to bloom, every flower is grown with love and intention.
We are passionate about what we do and take pride in bringing beauty into the lives of others.
Connection & Community
Flowers are meant to be shared.
Whether it’s a gift, a wedding bouquet, or a flower stand visit, we believe in fostering connections between people and nature and supplying our community with the best blooms we can grow.
Hard Work & Growth
Just like a garden, we are always learning, evolving, and improving.
We pour dedication and care into our work, knowing that growth—both in flowers and in life—takes patience and effort.
FAQs
-
We try to focus on speciality flower varieties that you would not normally see at a grocery store.
April-May tulips are in season.
June dianthus, rudbeckia, agrostemma, yarrow, feverfew, bachelor buttons, larkspur are in season.
July-first frost (usually early October) dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, celosia, cress, lisianthus, craspedia, marigolds, ageratum, and snapdragons are in season.
This is just a sample of what we grow. We are always learning and trialing new varieties.
-
We offer a tulip, summer, and a fall subscription.
All are a little different and run for different periods of time. You can also purchase them all together in our bloom bundle package for one week free.
Once you pick a subscription and sign up on our website, then you’ll receive a confirmation email and a printable gift certificate in case you’re gifting the subscription. When the flowers are nearing bloom, you’ll receive another email explaining pick up and delivery. Pick-ups are usually Tuesday’s from 4pm-7pm. Deliveries are usually Tuesday mornings from 8am-10am.
For pick-ups, you simply cross your name off the list at the flower stand and grab a bouquet. For delivery, you’ll receive your first delivery with a bouquet in a bucket of water. Then every delivery day you set out the bucket with water and I place the bouquet in the bucket. I always carry extra in case you forget.
I send reminder emails every week. If for some reason the time and day does not work for you, we can accommodate when communicated by the customer. If you are out of town for a week, you can either have someone else pick-up or we can double you up the next week.

Our flowers are locally grown and our focus is on specialty varieties. Many of the flowers you see at a florist and/or grocery store are grown in another country and flown in. By the time they reach your hands, the flowers have already lived quite a life. Our flowers represent what is currently in bloom at that moment in your community.
When you purchase our flowers, you know exactly where they are coming from, you are supporting your local ecosystem, and you get to experience flowers you wouldn’t get from a grocery store.
-
No, we do not currently accept special orders.
